The art student activity unit of the University of Muhammadiyah Riau (UMRI Arts UKM) is a student activity unit engaged in the arts and culture. This UKM accommodates students who like and want to hone their talents and interests in the arts, especially in theater or acting and dance. Not only Malay art and culture, UMRI art UKM also accommodates various arts and cultures in Indonesia. Students who participate in this UKM often get the opportunity to perform on various campus and off campus events.

The student choir of the University of Muhammadiyah Riau Svaradita is one of the Student Activity Units (UKM) on the UMRI campus. This UKM is engaged in vocal arts. Svaradita student choirs often perform at various events held on and off campus. Starting from graduation, faculty graduation, choir competitions and festivals in and out of town.

Each class on the campus of the University of Muhammadiyah Riau is equipped with air conditioning (AC) and flexible classroom settings to adjust learning activities, both with lecture methods, group discussions and presentations. Pratama Clinic Muhammadiyah University of Riau was established to help improve the quality of health services for people in Pekanbaru and surrounding areas. Has a motto: serve wholeheartedly, UMRI Clinic accepts general patients, BPJS Health and also other commercial ASKES. UMRI Pratama Clinic is on Jalan Tuanku Tambusai Ujung no.01 which coincides in the campus II environment of Muhammadiyah University, Riau. UMRI Pratama Clinic operates every day for 24 hours by serving the 24-hour emergency room, 24-hour General Poly, Dental Clinic, Health Certificate, Simple Lab (check blood sugar, uric acid and cholesterol), Circumcision (circumcision), pregnancy test, mother consultation and children, family planning, home visits, health counseling, prolanist service programs and examination of the bride and groom. Riau Muhammadiyah University provides integrated services in the form of information, communication and technology systems. This service is provided for all academics both students, lecturers and teaching staff to support academic and non-academic activities. Each academic community has their own account to utilize this ICT service. Activities supported by this service include filling out online study plans, e-learning, online integrated services, websites and free internet access. No need to come to campus, all these activities can be done at one time.

In addition to classrooms as a support for learning, laboratories are no less important in several fields of study. UMRI has a complete laboratory including computer laboratories, multimedia, language, physics, chemistry, biology, nursing, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, automotive engineering, mini banks, public relations laboratories (public relations study programs), and communication laboratories (radio, broadcasting & editing) .

University of Muhammadiyah Riau (UMRI) has a library on the 6th floor of KH. Ahmad Dahlan Campus II Jalan Tuanku Tambusai Ujung.
UMRI's central library has a collection consisting of text books related to all study programs, Islamic religious books, encyclopedias, magazines, fiction and others. The UMRI central library has been managed with a digital library system (digilab) which provides journals, e-books, student thesis and so on. The UMRI Library is noted to have collaborated with the Riau Library and Archives Service, Muhammadiyah College library Forum and campus and friendly universities in Riau Province. The comfort of reading in the UMRI library is supported by the presence of air conditioning (AC), reading room, computer access, BI Corner, Koran Corner and wifi / internet access.

Mapala UMRI is a student activity unit that was established on February 10, 2013. Mapala UMRI is a place for students of Muhammadiyah University of Riau to do activities in the wild, contribute to the community and care for the preservation of the environment. One contribution is the fire fighting in the smoke disaster in Riau Province some time ago.

Mini Bank was established in 2009 at the Muhammadiyah Pekanbaru financial and banking academy. Mini banks are used by banking students in the Faculty of economics and business as well as Islamic banking students in the faculty of Islamic studies to meet practicum. The mini bank focuses its activities on banking operational practices ranging from bank tellers, customer service, and operators (servers) accompanied by laboratory assistants and instructors from banking practitioners. Facilities available at the mini bank are practicum rooms, computers, account opening applications, savings deposit applications, savings withdrawals, book transfers, money counting devices and money detector devices. The existence of this mini bank supports students to align theoretical knowledge with field practice so as to be able to apply bank service standards and be proficient in managing bank funds with funding and financing.

The sports student activity unit is one of the UKMs in the UMRI campus environment that focuses on developing students' interests and talents in sports. Sports UKM can facilitate students to hone a good spirit of competition in the campus environment. UMRI sports UKM includes volleyball, basketball, takraw, futsal and others. Tournaments and competitions are often done to knit closeness between students.

The Qur'an Study Center is one of the activities initiated by the LSIK (Institute of Islamic and Kemuhammadiyahan Studies) University of Muhammadiyah Riau for the entire UMRI academic community. One of the activities undertaken for students is mentoring the reading of the Qur'an in each class and will be monitored by senior students who already have a Training of Trainer (ToT) certificate. In addition, the quran center study activity was also conducted a study of tahsin and Qur'anic interpretation for all UMRI students.

The holy site of the University of Muhammadiyah Riau is one of the UKM that accommodates students in the martial arts. Tapak Suci itself is an Indonesian martial arts college with the status of an autonomous organization (orthom) Muhammadiyah, which was officially established on July 31, 1963 in the Kauman village of Yogyakarta. Therefore, it was later named the Indonesian martial arts school Tapak Suci, son of Muhammadiyah. His birth had the aim of defending religion and defending the nation. With the presence of this UKM in the campus environment of UMRI, students are expected to have a fighting spirit as the goals set since the beginning of their birth. Tread Suci UKM was presented to hone the soft-skills of students and bring the good name of the university to various events.
